Masterplanner/Urban Designer - Cirencester
In recent years EDP has developed a reputation for excellence in ‘Environmentally-focussed’ masterplanning for residential and mixed use developments, achieving notable planning consents on a number of challenging sites. Our success means that our portfolio of masterplanning projects is now too substantial for the existing masterplanning team and so a key opportunity has emerged for an ambitious and capable individual.
The successful candidate will be a talented, enthusiastic and highly organised team player with a good working knowledge of urban design issues and a genuine interest in the environment. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years post qualification experience gained in a design practice working on large scale urban design and masterplanning projects. Some experience of housing layouts or other environmental disciplines would be an advantage. With first class computer and graphic skills you will be able to visually communicate using a range of medium including AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up and hand drawing. Overseen by a senior Masterplanner, the role will include the production of all typical masterplanning services, including: feasibility appraisals; concept schemes; urban design appraisals; morphology studies; preparation of public consultation materials and stakeholder events; Design and Access Statements; design codes, sketch layouts and masterplans.
This position offers the right candidate an opportunity to develop their masterplanning skills by working closely with our existing team of experienced masterplanners and learning directly from the other core disciplines within this office. EDP firmly believes in supporting and developing its team members and considers this role a significant opportunity for someone to assist us in expanding our masterplanning team and to see their own career progress as a result. The salary for this post is to be agreed based on qualifications and experience and will form part of an excellent benefits package including pension, private health insurance, 30 days annual leave allowance (+ bank holidays) and profit share bonus scheme.
All candidates should provide a full CV and a covering letter addressed to Dai Lewis at: The Environmental Dimension Partnership, Tithe Barn, Barnsley Park Estate, Barnsley, Cirencester, Gloucestershire GL7 5EG or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
