Consultant Landscape Architect – Cardiff
This post, in a growing office, will offer the successful candidate a huge diversity of experience encompassing not only landscape, but also aspects of ecology, heritage and arboriculture. You will work alongside, be mentored by and line managed by, the Head of the Cardiff Office - EDP Director, Dai Lewis CMLI. You may also assist the wider Cardiff team with baseline surveys and field investigations – particularly in respect of ecology, where you may assist with various protected species surveys.

The right candidate for this role will ideally be a post-graduate qualified Landscape Architect with drive, ambition and a self-confident approach. You will preferably have a couple of years experience and an appetite for more diversity, bigger challenges and better support. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills, particularly verbal and written, be decisive by nature and pro-active in getting a job done. Experience of the production of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA) will carry great weight.

Archaeology and Heritage Consultant - Cardiff
EDP is seeking to recruit an archaeological/heritage consultant to join Director Andrew Crutchley’s team, which services a diverse range of projects across South Wales and the west country.

EDP was established in July 2005 - and is now recognised as one of the premium environmental planning consultancies in the development sector. The business seeks to exceed client expectations through a thorough appreciation of their project objectives, practising technical excellence, and striving to deliver the best outcome.

The successful candidate must possess excellent research skills, as well as a proven ability to write to a high standard. Ideally they will be able to deliver complex projects independently or as part of a team, delivering both on time and on budget, and with an ability to communicate with team members. Twelve months or more in a consultancy environment would be desirable but by no means essential – likewise a membership of the CIfA at associate level or above. A full driving licence and a car insured for business use will be required.

The EDP Masterplanning team is recruiting! Following a number of exciting new instructions we have an immediate vacancy for a senior level urban designer/masterplanner in our Cirencester office. Our continued growth within our core environmental masterplanning market means that we are also seeking to find a competent principal and junior to join us in our brand new Cardiff office.

Masterplanning

As a masterplanner at EDP you would benefit from working within an environmentally conscious multi-disciplinary company where the small team culture promotes openness, trust and enjoyment. EDP is a privately owned company which actively encourages individual creative flare, based within inspirational and healthy office environments.

At the principal/senior level, we are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and highly organised team player with a good working knowledge of urban design issues and a genuine interest in the environment to join the team in our Cirencester office. Our ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years post qualification experience gained in a design practice working on urban design and masterplanning projects at a variety of scales. You will have first class computer and graphic skills, confident presentation and negotiation ability, an understanding of housing layouts and some experience of other environmental disciplines would be an advantage.

At the junior level you will have the opportunity to develop your masterplanning and project management skills by working closely with our existing team of experienced masterplanners and learning directly from the other core disciplines within the company. EDP firmly believes in supporting and developing its team members and considers this role a significant opportunity for someone to assist us in growing our masterplanning team and to see their own career progress as a result.

The successful candidates will be able to visually communicate using a range of medium including AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up and hand drawing. The roles will include the production of all typical masterplanning services, including: feasibility appraisals; concept schemes; urban design appraisals; morphology studies; preparation of public consultation materials and stakeholder events; Design and Access Statements and masterplans.
