Green Infrastructure | ![]() | |
Green infrastructure is one of the key principles underpinning the government’s drive to create high quality places which support sustainable communities. A small, but growing, number of Local Authorities have developed green infrastructure policies and strategies in emerging LDF documents, in line with PPS12. EDP has seen an increasing need for planning applications to be supported by a Green Infrastructure Statement. As a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy, EDP is well-placed to deliver Green Infrastructure Statements, and have been asked to do so on a number of our projects including, Buckton Fields in Northampton, West Linslade Urban Extension in Buckinghamshire and Holland Park in Spalding. Natural England consider EDP’s Green Infrastructure Statement for Buckton Fields to be, ‘very effective at illustrating how the principles of GI have been specifically applied at the site level.’ For more information, contact Rebecca Gregory at rebeccag@edp-uk.co.uk. |
