The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 (CRoW) has extended the public's enjoyment of the UK 's diverse countryside. It has also increased the necessary considerations of landowners for future development . This is not just due to the greater statutory right of access to the countryside, but also because of the greater protection afforded to SSSIs, AONBs and SPAs.
