We are seeking a well-rounded, talented, enthusiastic, and highly organised Landscape Architect to join us in either our Cirencester, Cheltenham or Cardiff office.

The Role

We are looking for well-rounded, talented, enthusiastic and highly organised team players to join the growing Landscape Team, working across a range of project sizes, types and complexities including world class leisure facilities, new settlements and renewable energy projects. This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop professional skills and technical ability, working closely with our existing team of experienced and respected Landscape Architects and the wider EDP team. This post will offer the successful candidate a wealth of experience encompassing not only landscape, but also aspects of ecology, heritage, masterplanning and arboriculture.

You will share our desire to create environmentally-responsive and exceptional places; and be at the leading edge of professional best practice.

Your Skills

  • A confident professional with drive and ambition;
  • An interest in multi-disciplinary planning and design;
  • You will ideally be proficient in the use of AutoCAD and the Adobe Creative Suite, and the standard Microsoft packages. It would be advantageous (though not essential) for you also to have experience of working with GIS software;
  • Excellent written communication with an eye for detail;
  • A client focussed team player who is decisive in nature and takes great pride in their project work; and
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills which are essential.

The Opportunity

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Ecologists to join our EDP Ecology Team during the 2024 ecology survey season. Positions are anticipated to last for a minimum of 6 months, commencing mid-March, during which time you will be based out of one of our three offices in Cardiff, Cheltenham and Cirencester. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn and further develop your ecology survey and consultancy skills, working alongside our talented ecology team.

The Role

Your primary role will be to assist the wider EDP Ecology Team in undertaking habitat and protected species surveys and providing Clerk of Works support, as well as assisting with data input and analysis, research and report writing. During this time, you will be supervised and supported by a strong team of expert ecologists, enabling you to gain valuable training and experience of survey methodologies, mitigation and best practice techniques required by the professional consultancy industry.

Your Skills

Your role will involve you travelling to various sites across the country; as such, a full, clean driving licence and access to your own car for business use is essential. You will have a relevant first degree and a good understanding of ecology and wildlife legislation and be proficient using MS Office. Applicants with previous experience of protected species surveys and/or NE/NRW licences are highly desirable.

In addition, you will be organised, personable, be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team and have good written and verbal communication skills.

The Opportunity

Are you seeking a new challenge? We are looking for a personable, innovative and proactive Principal level ecologist to join our passionate, dynamic and friendly team in Cheltenham!

The Role

Benefiting from working in a multi-disciplinary consultancy team, you will be responsible for project management across a range of projects varying in size, types and complexities, providing sound ecological advice. Experienced ecologists with technical strengths in protected species, ornithology, licensing and/or botany are particularly sought after. You will be a pragmatic and solution-focussed ecologist, have proven experience in consultancy and be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment, assisting in the mentoring and management of colleagues.

Your Skills

You will have a relevant degree, a thorough understanding of environmental consultancy, the current planning system and environmental legislation, and have, or be eligible for membership with CIEEM. You will be effective at working on your own and as part of a 30+ strong ecology team located across our three offices. A full, valid UK driving licence is essential and access to a vehicle for business use preferred.
