The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our exceptional Business Support Team. This is a varied, fast-paced, and integral office role with some flexibility of Hybrid working.

The role is on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week over 5 days) hybrid office days and working from home as well as working flexibly.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working alongside our two Finance Assistants and four Senior Finance Assistants, the role will involve a variety of responsibilities and the ideal candidate would show demonstrable skills in the following, although full training will be given for the right person regardless of experience;

  • Purchase ledger data entry into the accounts system, Sage;
  • Day to day administration of EDP’s job costing system (full in-house training to be given), including sales invoices production;
  • Undertaking general credit control duties, including issuing reminders to clients regarding outstanding invoices;
  • Review accuracy and appropriateness of team expenses before processing;
  • Manage the Finance mailbox, ensuring queries are dealt with in a timely manner or forwarded for action appropriately;
  • General administration within the finance department.

Your Skills

It is essential that you have GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent) and be confident with Microsoft Offices packages (especially Excel) and have excellent attention to detail. Additionally, you will be organised, approachable, reliable and able to multi task under high expectations, pressure and workload deadlines.

It would be desirable, but not essential, that you have a working knowledge of Sage.

The Opportunity

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Ecologists to join our EDP Ecology Team during the 2024 ecology survey season. Positions are anticipated to last for a minimum of 6 months, commencing mid-March, during which time you will be based out of one of our three offices in Cardiff, Cheltenham and Cirencester. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn and further develop your ecology survey and consultancy skills, working alongside our talented ecology team.

The Role

Your primary role will be to assist the wider EDP Ecology Team in undertaking habitat and protected species surveys and providing Clerk of Works support, as well as assisting with data input and analysis, research and report writing. During this time, you will be supervised and supported by a strong team of expert ecologists, enabling you to gain valuable training and experience of survey methodologies, mitigation and best practice techniques required by the professional consultancy industry.

Your Skills

Your role will involve you travelling to various sites across the country; as such, a full, clean driving licence and access to your own car for business use is essential. You will have a relevant first degree and a good understanding of ecology and wildlife legislation and be proficient using MS Office. Applicants with previous experience of protected species surveys and/or NE/NRW licences are highly desirable.

In addition, you will be organised, personable, be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team and have good written and verbal communication skills.

The Opportunity

Are you seeking a new challenge? We are looking for a personable, innovative and proactive Principal level ecologist to join our passionate, dynamic and friendly team in Cheltenham!

The Role

Benefiting from working in a multi-disciplinary consultancy team, you will be responsible for project management across a range of projects varying in size, types and complexities, providing sound ecological advice. Experienced ecologists with technical strengths in protected species, ornithology, licensing and/or botany are particularly sought after. You will be a pragmatic and solution-focussed ecologist, have proven experience in consultancy and be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment, assisting in the mentoring and management of colleagues.

Your Skills

You will have a relevant degree, a thorough understanding of environmental consultancy, the current planning system and environmental legislation, and have, or be eligible for membership with CIEEM. You will be effective at working on your own and as part of a 30+ strong ecology team located across our three offices. A full, valid UK driving licence is essential and access to a vehicle for business use preferred.
